When you talk about Milan, the first thing that rings a bell is Milan Fashion Week. Established in 1958, Milan Fashion Week is a part of the international Big Four Fashion Weeks, the other being Paris Fashion Week, New York Fashion Week and London Fashion Week. This is a semi-annual fashion event held for a week. Some of the leading fashion houses (namely Valentino, Versace, Armani, Gucci and many more) showcase their latest collections at this event. Held in February-March of each year for Spring/Summer collection and in September-October for Autumn/Winter collection, this event unveils the trends in the fashion world. This event lets all fashion freaks know what’s in and what’s out in the fashion industry.

To get a head start on next season’s fashion trends visit Milan’s “Quadrangle of Fashion”, a district between Via Montenapoleone, Via Gesu, Via Andrea, Corso Venezia and Via della Spiga. Every Italian fashion designer has their ateliers lined up side by side in this area. Most shopping centers remain closed on Sundays and Saturdays are the most crowded day of the week. To make the most of your shopping, try Corso Buenos Aries, the biggest shopping centre in Milan with over 350 shops, on a weekday. Visit Via Brera on every third Saturday of the month to experience plenty of bargains in toys, clothing and antiques. So all I have to say is Wanna do fashion, do it the Milan style!
